Ease of Use
I Don't Like
Swagbucks review: By now you've heard Swagbucks from your friends, the internet, from advertisements, etc.
It's really popular, but a lot of questions still remain unanswered:
Is Swagbucks legit?
Is it worth it? Are you going to make money from it?
Does it really pay out money, gift cards, merchandises, etc.?
Can you actually make money from Swagbucks?
These questions will be answered here.
In this Swagbucks review, you'll learn what Swagbucks is, the ways to make money from it, hacks to use to maximize your earnings like using Swagbucks codes, and a lot more.
Swagbucks Review 2019: Is It Worth The Hype? Is It Legit?
To make this Swagbucks review unbiased, I gathered data from different sources to help you get the full picture of what Swagbucks is all about.
Let's hop in and start.
Is Swagbucks legit and/or safe?
The answer is YES. Swagbucks is legit and safe.
Of course, it is easier for me to say that it is legit and safe, but I know you need proof.
Here's the deal:
Over the past year, I've been using Swagbucks for just about anything. I've used it for searching the web, watching videos, playing games, buying some stuff, etc.
What did I get?
I got over $1,550 in under a year (see image below). I made over 155,000 points equivalent to over $1,550. Not bad when I only put a couple of minutes here and there.
As of this writing, Swagbucks has paid over $317 MILLION to its members. That's with an M.
I'd be worried if it has only paid a couple of thousands since it started, but we're talking about millions of dollars.
Any other proofs of its legitimacy?
My personal experience may not always be sufficient to convince you that Swagbucks is legit.
Heck, you might think this Swagbucks review is biased.
So, here are the other proofs.
Swagbucks has an A- rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) with 13 years of doing business under the head company Protege, LLC.
In business terms:
It's difficult to even get an A rating much less a B rating with the BBB since BBB really looks at all angles of the company (e.g. business practices, consumer complaints, and consumer reviews).
GoBankingRates even created a post on how to make $600/mo using Swagbucks.
What is Swagbucks?
Founded in 2008 by Prodege, LLC, Swagbucks offers Swagbuck points aka SB for just about anything you do.
These SBs can be redeemed for PayPal cash, gift cards, donations to charities, etc.
From using Swagbucks to searching anything online to watching videos and everything in between you do online, you can make money with what you do online.
How does Swagbucks work?
Earning money through Swagbucks is fairly easy and simple.
Each time you complete an activity, you will collect SB points. Once you have enough points, you can cash them out or convert them into prizes, gift cards, or donate them to charities.
Some of the most common payouts people go for include:
- PayPal money – cash out your SBs in $5 increments
- Gift cards – most common retailers include Walmart, Target, and Amazon
Is Swagbucks free?
Yes. Swagbucks is 100% free.
Some activities may require you to have a subscription or make a purchase to earn cash back (e.g. buying something you need), but Swagbucks will never require you to pay to be a member.
All you need is a Facebook account or an email address. That's it.
If you intend to redeem your points as PayPal money, you just need to have your PayPal account in handy.
Who can join Swagbucks?
Membership is open to most countries, but you need to be at least 13 years to join.
Most people who have joined come from North America and Europe.
If you have high schoolers who need money on the side, Swagbucks could be one of those side hustles they could do in their free time.
Or adults can use it, too.
Most activities only take a minute or two to complete. For sure, you or your kids won't mind using a few minutes to earn a few dollars on the side.
For a limited time only, you can join Swagbucks and earn a $10 bonus right away.
Ways to make more from Swagbucks
Once you sign up, you instantly get a $10 bonus. That's right you can make your first $10 just for signing up.
Once that's done, there are various ways you can earn SB. These include the following:
- Taking surveys
- Watching videos
- Printing coupons
- Testing products for FREE
- Playing games
- Browsing the web
- Buying products
- Buying gift cards
These are just few of the popular ways to make money from Swagbucks.
By the way, a 100 SB is equivalent to $1. Just an FYI, some really short activities pay 400 SB. That's fast money right there.
Let's go look at these ways in more detail:
Depending on your demographic, you can make money right away just by taking paid surveys.
You know the best part?
The best part is that you can take surveys just about anywhere. You can take surveys while binge-watching or waiting for the bus to come.
Believe it or not:
Swagbucks is widely known for paying top dollars for surveys. If there's one thing that can be said about Swagbucks, it is that taking surveys can be rewarding.
When you sign up for a Swagbucks account, make sure you answer the initial questions truthfully as your answers to these questions will become the basis for what surveys you'd be qualified for.
When you're looking for a survey, always pay attention to the following:
- Completion time
- SB payout
Pick the ones that only take a few minutes to complete and pay out at least 100 SB. Those are the true moneymakers.
Here's the real deal:
While watching videos isn't something that will help you make a ton of money, it is something to use to make extra SB.
No one wants to watch 10 videos and make $1.00. Heck, I won't recommend you do that.
What I do recommend is be clever so you can do two things at the same time.
Here's what I do:
While I do something like preparing food, folding my clothes, or something, I would turn on the videos and not pay attention to them.
That's a trick that some of the Swagbucks reviews don't tell you about. But this trick always works.
Watching videos on Swagbucks is a great substitute for YouTube. YouTube doesn't pay you to watch videos but Swagbucks does. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.
If you print your coupons through Coupons.com, you might as well print them through Swagbucks.
These coupons are the same exact coupons you'll see on Coupons.com. The only difference is that Swagbucks pays you to print them out.
Each printed coupon gives you 10 SB.
You'll find some deals lurking around. Instead of 10 SB per printed coupon, you may see 25 SB per printed coupon.
Do you know how companies create new products and people go crazy for those?
That's because these products have been tested by select people.
If you're looking for products to test for FREE, Swagbucks is a good place to start.
Under the “Discover” section, you'll find some products you can test for FREE. Be sure to sign up as soon as you see them because people will try to get their hands into these as fast as the speed of light.
If you like playing games – the easy, no-brainer games – then, this is for you.
Some of the games are very popular. These include the Wheel of Fortune, Trivia, the infamous Tetris, Bejeweled, etc.
If you're not into playing games but still want to make some extra money on the side, it's best to leave the playing stuff to the kids.
If you have kids or young siblings you can ask them to play the games for you.
That's double purpose there:
First, you can make the kids happy. Second, you get to make money.
Ain't that easy, right?
Here's the reality:
Playing games isn't the best way to use your time. That said, every single SB counts. That's why I like Swagbucks because there are a lot of ways to choose from to make money.
Browsing the web
Google is always the king when it comes to searching for anything you want.
That said, Swagbucks comes second to Google. Why? It's because it's powered by Yahoo!.
If you've been using Yahoo!, you might as well get paid to use it.
If you haven't, it's not too late to use it.
Some searches can give you 100 SB while some will just give you 5 SB. Swagbucks doesn't publish how it gives more credit on some searches more than the others.
There are two ways to make money browsing the web:
- Use the Swagbucks.com search bar
- Use Swagbucks as your default search engine
Remember this though:
If you're searching for something you need, getting those SB is just an added bonus.
If you're looking for deals, you just cannot miss Swagbucks.
I am just amazed at how great the deals Swagbucks offers.
Just the other month, I saw the following deals that were just too good to be true:
- Sign up for a Hulu account and receive $20 <— By the way, a Hulu account is just $7.99. That's a moneymaker.
- Buy $20 or more on Jet.com and get $30 cash back <— Again a moneymaker.
Of course, I ended up going for these two deals.
In many cases, you can earn up to a good 40% cash back on most online stores – a serious moneymaker.
Swagbucks also offers in-store cash back when you link a credit card to Swagbucks.
By the way, here are some partner stores offering cash back:
If you are looking for ways to save money and make money at the same time, Swagbucks is a place to look at.
Buying gift cards
How would you like to buy gift cards and, then, get cash back?
That's possible with Swagbucks.
Not a lot of Swagbucks reviews will say the benefits of buying gift cards, but it's one of the hidden benefits of using Swagbucks.
There's one hack that you will only see in my Swagbucks review and no other place:
Buy a gift card from Swagbucks. You'll, then, earn cash back on your purchase.
After that, use Swagbucks to buy what you need and use your gift card. You'll earn SB for such purchase.
Basically, you earn in two different ways: one for the purchase of the gift card and one for buying a product.
Pros and Cons of Swagbucks
All products aren't always perfect. The same thing goes with Swagbucks.
Don't let other Swagbucks reviews tell you it's the best in the world and not tell you the disadvantages of using it.
By now, you'd be asking what the other pros and cons are.
- 100% free to sign up
- $10 bonus instantly
- A user-friendly app that can be used on a desktop, mobile, or template
- A wide variety of ways to save and make money
- Some activities pay more than the others. There's no set guideline or rule that states which activities pay more or less.
- Swagbucks' platform can be overwhelming because of the different ways to save and earn money
When is Swagbucks Worth It?
Bottom line: Swagbucks isn't for everybody.
That said, Swagbucks is a perfect side hustle if you:
- Have 5 minutes or less to complete a task or activity
- Want to earn more than what you paid for a purchasing a product
- Want to multi-task and make extra money
Assuming you've been watching TV, playing games, printing coupons, etc., then, Swagbucks is 100% profit for you.
You really don't have to do anything different. Just do what you do on a daily basis, and get paid for that.
Additional Ways to Earn SB
Earning SB doesn't end there.
Believe it or not:
There are so many other ways to earn SB than the ones stated above. Here are they:
SwagButton Browser Extension
I understand when you're busy and still want to earn money but forget to do some of the ways mentioned above.
There's a solution to that:
The browser extension helps you not miss the chance to earn points.
You can earn SB when you do the following:
- Web Searches
- Swag Codes
- Online Shopping
Whether you're searching or buying stuff, you don't have to go to Swagbucks, go through the process, etc. to get the SB.
SB will be credited to your account automatically since the Swagbutton is active.
Swag Ups are promotions that Swagbucks offers.
Each month, it offers promotions for just about anything. So, be sure to check those at the beginning of the month.
One time, there was a promotion of 2,000 SB just for trying to visit its Facebook page.
In just 10 seconds, I made 2,000 SB.
Swag Ups is something that not a lot of Swagbucks reviews know of.
So, be sure to mark your calendar and visit Swag Ups at the beginning of the month.
Swagbucks is very gimmicky, and for good reasons.
One thing I like about Swagbucks is that it's very clever and knows how to keep their members wanting more.
Swag Codes is one of those gimmicks a lot of people love.
Each day, Swagbucks posts different Swagbucks codes on its site and all over the internet. When you find those codes, redeem them to Swagbucks' site and you'll earn points.
If you've got nothing else to do and wants to earn extra SB, this is the way to go.
Swagbucks review conclusion:
Before I conclude my Swagbucks review, let me tell you the reality about Swagbucks.
I'm not going to say you are going to rich by using Swagbucks. I can't and won't say that. If you're looking for ways to make more money online, try this link.
The one thing I can say is that you can earn extra money from it. Like what I said earlier, I was fortunate to have made over $1,500 in just 7 months without changing my routine.
You can always use whatever you'll earn from Swagbucks to pay for groceries, pay some debt, etc.
If you're doing what's been mentioned above, then, you might want to consider joining because it's 100% profit for you.

You are correct when you said you're not going to get rich with Swagbucks, but it's still a great app to use to make money on the side. I've made over $500 in under a year without actually doing a whole lot with it.
It's free money, and I'll take that!
