Basics of Side Hustling
Before going through a list of side hustles that pay, it’s best to lay out the basics of what is side hustling.
What is a side hustle?
It is things you can do to earn money aside from your full-time or day job.
They are closely similar to a part-time job. But, it gives you the freedom to work on your terms – how much time you want to put in and how much you can potentially earn.
You can do one on your day off or during weekends or in your spare time, in general.
You can be anywhere around the world or be in your favorite PJs to do passive income ideas – it doesn’t matter as long as you get the job or task done.
How much will I make?
The most realistic answer is “it depends.”
Some people earn thousands of dollars per month as I do. I’ll be discussing the details regarding this later on.
Some people earn below a thousand dollars every month.
But the bottom line is, you need to ask yourself, how much do you want to be financially independent?
Once you’re able to answer that question yourself honestly, it will be easier for you to do side hustles and increase your income.
Hopefully, with a lot of dedication, determination, passion, and tons of patience, it will all be worth your while.
When can I start side hustling?
The answer is now.
It is essential from the get-go that you want to do a side job or two so you can maximize your potential income.
Your most significant competition is yourself. If you’re the kind of person who's easily demotivated or gets sidetracked, doing passive side hustles may not work for you. Click to TweetBelieve it or not:
Time is the most essential thing in side hustling.
It determines your deadlines, your working hours and in turn, determines your income.
Who is side hustling for?

It’s also for anybody who has free time on the side.
So, whether you’re a stay at home mom, a husband or father who’s trying to make ends meet, a student who wants to pay off the student debt loan, or just someone willing to earn more money by doing a side hustle, this could be for you.

Is your side hustle scalable?
When thinking about ways to earn extra income, ask yourself if that hustle is scalable or if you can make into a business, that is if you’re considering to make it more than just a temporary way to make money.
Limited to Your Time | Scalable Potential |
---|---|
Blogging | Launching a full-scale blogging company |
Babysitting | Launching a daycare |
Making Deliveries | Launching a courier/delivery service |
Being a coach | Launching a coaching company |
Being a writer | Launching a freelancing company |
Renting a space | Launching an AirBnB/rental business |
Moving furniture | Launching a moving company |
When you want to start a side hustle, do keep in mind that some money-making ideas are easy to do and some aren’t, and some have the potential for growth and some are just a short-term fix to making money.
What I do recommend is starting with one that you can easily do in your own time and/or without putting too much effort into it.
For example, you can start taking paid surveys. Once you make money from it, you can move to blogging to finance it in the meantime. (That’s really what I did with my blog, and now, I’m earning over $20K a month working 4-5 hours/mo.
How can you find time to do a side hustle?
We all have 24/7 each day. We can all be busy one day and not so busy the next day.
When it comes to side hustling and making it work, you need to dedicate time to it.
Before choosing one, you need to think how much time you can commit to your side hustle.
If you can commit 20 hours a week, then, maybe you can do a more challenging side hustle that can earn you more vice one that takes only a couple of minutes but will make you less. Click to TweetFor example, I started by taking the best-paid survey sites before moving on to blogging. I started with a few hours each week. Then, when I earned enough, I went over to blogging and dedicated more time.
At one point, I was putting in 25 extra hours each to my hustle (i.e., blogging). Once my blog was on its steady-state, then, I cut down my hours to 15, then, 10, and, now, 5 hours a week.
Remember that when it comes to hustling, there would always be a temporary trade-off between time and money. You’ll lose time on some other things, but you could be making more money.
Final thoughts on side hustle jobs:
Whether it’s dog walking, selling art, or babysitting, there are passive side hustles for everyone no matter how vast and wide our interests are.
The real big question is, how willing and committed are you to do side hustles and maximize your side hustle income potential?
Side hustling can be challenging if you are easily demotivated, but it shouldn’t. Always keep in mind what your goals are and what your purpose is for doing these side hustles.
You may or may not have done some of the side hustles listed above, but let me know what your thoughts are.
Happy side hustling!
Which of these side hustles are you going to try? Which side hustles do you think will help you make more passive income?
